While it depends on your exact requirements, and your current MindBody plan, we can pretty confidently say, significantly. MindBody plans can range from about $250 / month to over $1000 / month, and often don’t include pretty standard addons, like the custom-branded app, or marketing plans.
The Wix platform is significantly less, even IF you go for the more advanced options like custom-branded app and generous marketing plans. Usually within the range of $50-$150/month MAX, so the ROI of moving to the Wix platform is very significant, especially over time.

Our clients experience with MindBody has been pretty poor, to say the least. The Wix platform includes 90% of the out-of-the-box MindBody features, which covers the majority of our clients. PLUS the Wix platform has a MUCH easier to use interface, more modern platform, INCLUDES a modern and fully-hosted website and the Wix Fit app, unlimited user accounts, more intuitive workflow management for marketing & customer management, and more. Depending on the specifics of your plans and contracts, we will migrate customers over to identical products, wherever possible, so they will see no change to their contracts, payments or conditions. In some cases where this is not possible (e.g. if you decide to do a clean-up or change to your plans as part of the system change), we may setup individual legacy plans in the new platform that will be valid for the duration of the customer’s existing contract. They will then cutover to the new plans when their existing contract ends.

During the migration process we make sure to adhere to all relevant requirements and policies about handling any of the customer data we may need access to. We never access any data that is not required for the project, and have no visibility of private or personal information, including passwords or financial information.

We start with an initial 30 minute consultation to confirm that this process and migration to a new platform will indeed work for you and your clients.
If so, then we will do a deep dive to understand your business needs, and draft up a proposed project proposal, and project plan, including time, cost, scope, resources required etc. Everything is extremely transparent and open throughout this entire process, and we will work with your budget and time constraints. We structure the engagement with weekly check-in meetings, where we will demo and review the work done in the week prior for your feedback and questions, and decide the scope of work for the coming week. This weekly cadence gives you oversight over everything that is being done at every stage.
Once the project kicks off, we will sit down and go through your processes and workflows in detail, understanding all the data, processing and touchpoints that need to be accounted for and map them to the new platform. During design & build, we are focusing on 3 key aspects: functional design (workflows, forms, touchpoints), aesthetic design (look & feel, colour schemes etc) and content design (data and information). We may create detailed wireframes for your design, or build drafts of the website pages directly on the platform, depending on your needs.
The second major phase is planning the migration of existing customers and data. We start by understanding your existing customer base and data requirements, and mapping them into the new system and platform. Depending on your specific needs, this may be a quick process, or may take longer to make sure all the data is mapped across. We will always work with you to make sure we come up with a migration plan that you and your customers are comfortable with.
The third major phase is planning for go-live and cutover. Usually planning for go-live happens way back at the beginning of the project when we start communicating with customers that a new platform and system is coming. It’s always best to communicate often and early so that your users are not surprised by the change. We will work with you to create a go-live and cutover plan, including how, when and what tasks need to be completed. Depending on your business, this usually happens on a weekend or “down day” where you have the least customers in-studio to minimise the impact. We migrate the majority of items across before cutover, and then only the most recent data on the “day of”.
We will then do post-migration testing and verification testing to ensure everything has come over as it should before we communicate the “go-live” to customers. We will usually maintain the new platform and MindBody in parallel for a period of 2 weeks after go-live to make sure there are no issues before we shutoff access to MindBody altogether and you will be free to enjoy the benefits of your new platform!

So, like everything, it depends on a few factors. One is the complexity of your existing processes and products that we are migrating over. Two is the extent of re-design, change, updating of content/design/products as a part of the process (we find that most clients take this opportunity to do a refresh of at least 1 thing!). Third is the total amount of, and the amount of different types of customers you have that we will be migrating. And fourthly is your availability to have input and provide feedback throughout the process. Generally, from start to finish, the process takes about 4-6 weeks. Some of our more complex engagements take 2-3 months from start to finish. Note this is elapsed time, not effort.
